David William Siktberg, 77, of Wayland, died peacefully of prostate cancer on Jan. 31, in the company of family and friends. He was the eldest of three children of William Siktberg, a Methodist minister, and Laura Herber Siktberg. He grew up in Franklin Square on Long Island, New York, attended Carey High School, and spent most of his adult life in the Boston area. He graduated from both Harvard College and Harvard Business School.
After college, he was employed in the software industry and a consultant specializing in marketing, management, and information management technology. In 1995, at age 46, he met Jennifer Christian, MD, MPH who hired him to consult on a program development project. They married in 1997, founding Webility Corporation a year later. Their consulting and training practice focused on improving life outcomes for workers receiving benefits in disability benefits and workersโ€™ compensation systems.
Music and music performance were central to Siktbergโ€™s life. He sang his first church solo at age three, sang all through college, and performed with the Boston Symphony Orchestraโ€™s Tanglewood Festival Chorus for seven years. He continued singing with various local groups until the end of his life.
In addition to his wife Jennifer, he is survived by three stepchildren, Anne Christian-Reuter (Zev), Peter Christian (Erin) and Samuel Christian (Casey), as well as five grandchildren; a brother, Steve Siktberg (Lainey); and his nephews, Stephen and Michael Siktberg. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Deborah Siktberg; and former partner, Anita Nyyssonen. There was a memorial service on March 14.
