Defending National Basketball Association champion, all-star, and Boston Celtic Jayson Tatum, 27, made a surprising appearance March 19th at the CVS on 325 Boston Post Rd.  Regardless of his profession, at 6’8”, Tatum immediately drew glances, towering over the Digestive Health aisle. The delighted and surprised expressions by Tantum’s appearance were noted on shoppers’ faces. They couldn’t have possibly predicted an errant run-in with the famous athlete on what was otherwise a typical Wednesday afternoon.

As there was virtually zero fanfare leading up to his presence in Wayland, Tatum managed to go about his business relatively quietly without drawing a sizable crowd. However, there happened to be about eleven to seventeen fortunate onlookers who were in the right place at the right time –including two overjoyed and star-struck schoolchildren, sure to be the envy of their classmates.

Tatum was filming a promotional video for Small Wins, a candy company offering plant-based, allergy-friendly, and low-sugar gummies. Tatum’s co-stars, Tommy Guarino and Chad McDonough, Jr., colloquially known as “Prosciutto Papi”, spent time with locals after filming commenced at which point Tatum exited via the back of the store. Tatum and the Celtics were not scheduled to play professional basketball that evening.
