Dear Editor,
My friend and neighbor Phil Sandock has been a Waylander since 1961, Wayland High School graduate (class of 1979), a self-employed carpenter, painter and handyman, and he’s also a breast cancer survivor now facing mesothelioma. Phil has just recently had a major operation which he is recovering from but will not be able to work for about four months or so.
This good and decent man is looking to raise $35,000 so that he and his wife can survive the winter without his income. To this effect, his nephew has opened a GoFundMe account at gofund.me/0f0f8e82e.
I’m asking you, my fellow neighbors, to please donate to his cause in any amount you can. A $5, $10 or $25 donation will make a huge impact. You may donate anonymously if you wish. Lastly, if you have never donated through GoFundMe, it’s a quick and easy way to support his cause, but know the site will automatically add a 13% “tip” which you can negate entirely (or increased) by moving the green tip line left or right as you go through payment. Please help Phil reach his goal.
