Dear Editor,

Thank you for your coverage of the Wayland Festival—a wonderful celebration of everything that makes our town such a vibrant and connected community. I’d like to add to the well-deserved praise in your article by recognizing some other people whose efforts were vital in making the event a success.

From fundraising and underwriting a third of the event to organizing the outstanding musical performances (and hosting performers in our gallery “green room”), Arts Wayland board members devoted countless hours to ensuring the festival’s success. They also worked closely with town officials to secure permits and prioritize safety. We are already hard at work planning for 2026.

Special appreciation goes to Judi Stein and Jih-Ho Donovan, also representing Arts Wayland, for their skillful coordination of the talented artists who transformed Elyssa Avenue into a lively corridor of color, creativity, and community spirit.

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to others whose contributions made the festival shine—from Roger Wiegand with his hand-cranked organ, to Jack Oliva and his sound team, who powered all 17 musical acts using battery and solar energy. These are just a few of the many unsung heroes whose efforts deserve recognition.

Steve Robb
President,

Arts Wayland Board of Directors
