SUDBURY — Chief Timothy Choate reports that the Sudbury Fire Department and its mutual aid partners quickly knocked down a working fire early Wednesday morning at a local restaurant.

At 12:47 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, Sudbury firefighters received an alert from a fire suppression system at the Lotus Blossom, 394 Boston Post Road (Route 20), about conditions at the restaurant.

Upon arrival, firefighters saw smoke showing from the rear of the building. They forced their way inside the kitchen and confronted fire conditions.

Crews attacked the blaze immediately and knocked it down shortly thereafter. There were no injuries.

A portion of Boston Post Road was closed for a little more than an hour as crews tackled the fire.

On-scene mutual aid was provided by the Wayland and Framingham Fire Departments. Concord, Marlborough and Maynard crews covered stations.

The fire remains under investigation by the Sudbury Fire Department and the State Police Fire & Explosion Investigation Unit assigned to the State Fire Marshal’s office.
