Twenty-seven Wayland student musicians from Wayland Middle School and Wayland High School participated in the 2025 MMEA Eastern District Junior Festival held at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School on March 7-8, 2025.

These students auditioned for the festival and were selected based on their performance of solo repertoire, scales and sight-reading skills.  Musicians’ grades 7-9 are eligible to audition.  The Eastern MA geographic district comprises highly competitive music programs.  Wayland Public Schools had the second highest number of participants of any district.

The students rehearsed under professional conductors in concert band, jazz band, full symphony and chorus on Friday and Saturday and then performed in culminating concerts on Saturday.
