    A new state law has made it easier for Massachusetts homeowners to create a second smaller dwelling unit on their property. Known as Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), these small apartments can be free-standing; reconfigured out of the home’s existing space; be an extension to the existing home; or created through a garage conversion or addition. Speakers will include individuals with specialized knowledge and various town officials and committee members who will help homeowners understand the new law and the steps they would need to follow to create an ADU on their property.
