New members Kevin Goodwin and Maryam Libdi were welcomed, and members introduced themselves. Chair Pallavi Nagesha provided an overview of her tenure with the council and experience with cultural grants.

The 2025 grant cycle has closed, and successful applicants have received their paperwork. Treasurer Naresh Mysore confirmed that one 2024 grant submission remains outstanding. Unclaimed 2024 funds will roll into the 2026 budget.

The Massachusetts Cultural Council will open the 2026 grant cycle on September 1, 2025, with a submission deadline of October 15. New members were instructed to create accounts on the Massachusetts Cultural Council website to review applications.

The council discussed the final utility box painting project on Route 20. A flyer for soliciting design submissions is ready for distribution around town. Submissions are due by April 6, 2025, for review at the April 9 meeting. The Department of Public Works must approve the final design before painting begins.

The Historical Commission requested Cultural Council sponsorship for a painted bench along the Cochituate Rail Trail. Due to limited funds, the council voted unanimously to defer support until 2026.
