Monday, July 7
10:47 a.m. — A caller reported a fire on Dean Road. Being an unauthorized burning, it was extinguished, and the homeowner was advised.
10:58 a.m. — The Fire Department discovered a separate unauthorized burning on Dean Road. The fire was extinguished, and the homeowner was advised.
7:53 p.m. — Police received multiple calls about a herd of cows walking down the roadway on Old Connecticut Path near Mainstone Farm.


Tuesday, July 8
4:38 a.m. — Police responded to a call from West Plain Street, where a woman reported that her boyfriend was intoxicated and she wanted him to leave.
9:22 a.m. — The property owner of Cochituate Village called to request assistance with the van that has been abandoned behind Domino’s Pizza (25 Main St) for several months.


Wednesday, July 9
3:28 a.m. — The Fire Department responded to a report of wires sparking at a power pole on Old Connecticut Path. The cause was a tree branch touching a wire; the fire burned itself out. Eversource was notified.
4:45 a.m. — The water department reported a tree lying on wires along Rice Road near Mainstone Road, blocking the roadway. Eversource was notified, and the road was closed from Mainstone to Woodridge.
1:06 p.m. — Police responded to a call from a Squirrel Hill Road resident who stated she had been the victim of a scam.
3:56 p.m. — A caller from Grove Street reported that a man from a pest company did not provide a solicitor ID when asked, and then departed. An officer spoke with the company’s supervisor, and the party was advised.
5:08 p.m. — A 911 caller reported that a large tree hanging over the roadway on Oak Street was about to fall. An officer spoke with the homeowner; the tree was cut back.
7:30 p.m. — A caller from Millbrook Road stated that a young person frequently rides a black electric bike in an unsafe manner on the rail trail at night. Police were unable to locate the rider and advised the reporting person to call when the incident was actively occurring.
7:50 p.m. — An Adams Lane resident called to say that a man from EcoShield Pest Co. was going door to door. Police were unable to locate him.
8:02 p.m. — A caller from Launcher Way stated that a man soliciting business for a pest company has been in the area for over 10 hours. This person had been spoken with earlier. He was given a courtesy transport to Stop & Shop in Wayland Center.
8:56 a.m. — A resident of Sears Road came to the Public Safety Building regarding an interaction with an Amazon driver earlier in the day.


Thursday, July 10
6:57 a.m. — A caller from Three Ponds Road reported a tree touching a wire. Eversource resolved the problem.
8:46 a.m. — A minor motor vehicle accident involving two cars on Cochituate Road near Wayland Center was called in by 911.
1:25 p.m. — A 911 rescue call was received from someone who was stuck in an elevator at Russell’s Garden Center (397 Boston Post Rd).
3:14 p.m. — A Lincoln Road resident called to complain about a solicitor at their house who lacked the necessary permit. An office spoke with the caller and the solicitor.
5:08 p.m. — The Fire Department responded to a 911 call that a Crest Road resident’s carbon monoxide alarm had been activated. The responding unit detected a low but detectable level. Propane was turned off, and a plumber was called.
8:50 p.m. — A resident of Winthrop Terrace called to say that a young man had just come to her door to solicit. Officers made contact with the party and waited for him to be picked up.
9:03 p.m. — A caller from Boston Post Road near Springhill Road reported that a solicitor was on her property earlier in the evening, and that her mail had been gone through and opened.
9:49 p.m. — Police located a dog running on Concord Road near Plain Road. An officer was able to contact the homeowner and reunite the dog with them.


Friday, July 11
5:50 a.m. — A caller reported the theft of a boat from the Wayland/Weston Crew Boat House at the Town Beach (25 Parkland Dr.). The boat has since been recovered; investigations are ongoing.
4:19 p.m. — The manager of CVS on West Plain Street called to report a shoplifting incident from earlier in the day.
4:32 p.m. — A caller from Glen Road reported that a tree had fallen on wires. The electric company was notified.


Saturday, July 12
12:53 p.m. — Police responded to a two-car accident on Main Street near East Plain Street.
6:20 p.m. — A caller from Parkland Drive reported a large tree limb had fallen, blocking access to the parking lot for Town Beach. DPW was notified, and traffic was redirected.
7:32 p.m. — Two reports of loud music in the Dudley Road neighborhood prompted police to locate and advise the responsible party.
9:46 p.m. — A caller reported a large outdoor fire at Henley Landscaping (197 Stonebridge Rd).
Sunday, July 13
6:50 p.m. — A resident of Dudley Road called to report her dog had been attacked by another dog.


Monday, July 14
1:54 p.m. — Police found a mattress in the roadway near St. Ann’s Church (134 Cochituate Rd. DPW was notified.
2:23 p.m. — A 911 caller made a report of a dog left in a vehicle at 11 Andrew Ave. The owner was advised not to leave the dog in the car.
2:36 p.m. — An employee of Royal Wayland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (188 Commonwealth Rd.) telephoned in a report of a resident-to-resident assault that took place.
3:49 p.m. — A 911 call was received, notifying of a single-vehicle crash near Donelan’s Market (177 Commonwealth Rd), where a vehicle went off the roadway into the woods. There were no injuries.
5:23 p.m. — A walk-in reported that a hit-and-run had occurred nearby.
Tuesday, July 15
8:44 a.m. — A fire box alarm was received due to smoke and heat at Bent Park Elderly Housing (12 Bent Ave).
9:26 a.m. — Police responded to a call concerning a disabled vehicle on Boston Post Road near Minuteman Drive. The car was pushed off the road into a parking area; the owner will arrange for towing.
10:29 a.m. — A caller reported a low-hanging branch at the intersection of Glezen and Peartree Lanes. DPW was notified.


Wednesday, July 16
4:17 p.m. — A Woodridge Road resident called to report a wire down across his yard. Verizon was notified.
Thursday, July 17
12:45 p.m. — A burglar alarm at a residence on Woodridge Road was investigated. The officer found all doors were unsecured and attempted to make contact with the homeowner.
1:02 p.m. — A 911 caller stated that when he was delivering mail, a person in a truck parked in front of the mailbox became verbally aggressive. The parties were advised.
2:45 p.m. — A resident of Pelham Island Road called to report that a dog was running in the roadway. The officer was able to catch the dog, and its owner came to the station to retrieve the dog.
4:25 p.m. — A caller from Aqueduct Road reported a tree had fallen and taken down wires. Eversource was notified and the road was closed.
4:54 p.m. — A resident of Oxbow Road reported that her neighbor’s dog had attacked her dog.


Friday, July 18
8:36 a.m. — A caller said that a dead raccoon was found on Stonebridge Road. The officer stated the animal was moved off the roadway.
9:55 p.m. — Police received a 911 call from a Joyce Road resident reporting a home invasion and attempted robbery. See page 1 for more details.


Saturday, July 19
5:36 p.m. — A 911 call reported a two-car accident on Commonwealth Road. There were no injuries.
Sunday, July 20
1:07 p.m. — A caller from Pollock Road reported that a vehicle was being driven erratically, crossing the double yellow line and passing multiple vehicles. The police advised the vehicle’s operator.
2:01 p.m. — A caller from Forty Acres Drive stated there was an injured owl in the roadway. An officer located the owl, which flew away.
7:53 p.m. — A Moore Road resident called in a report that a tree limb had fallen on a wire. The electric company was notified.
