Monday, October 13

8:03 a.m.—A Woodridge Road resident reported that a large tree was leaning on primary and secondary wires. The area was secured with caution tape and Eversource was notified.

8:28 a.m.—Wires reported down on Jericho Lane were found to be lying in a driveway and were cable wires from the housedrop. Xfinity was notified.

2:21 p.m.—A caller from Alden Road reported a loud explosion in the area, followed by a power outage. The Fire Department determined it was a blown fuse on a pole on Loker Street. Eversource was notified.

7:32 p.m.—A 911 caller from Covered Bridge Lane stated concern over a person in a car with her feet on the steering wheel, who may have been in that position for two hours. Responding officer arrested Jennifer Castelli, 55, of Worcester MA, who was charged with OUI.

Tuesday, October 14

5:37 a.m.—A caller from Wayland Swimming and Tennis (228 Glezen Ln) reported a tree hanging on wires over the roadway. DPW was called in and Eversource was notified.

8:24 a.m.—A motor vehicle accident on Main Street, involving two cars, was called in. Police requested evaluation of an infant, but this was refused.

3:36 p.m.—A tractor trailer crashed into the canopy over the gas pumps at the Sunoco station (78 Boston Post Rd), according to a caller. The Building Department advised the property owner to contact a contractor for repairs.

Wednesday, October 15

6:35 p.m.—A caller from Boston Post Road was concerned about a female with a stroller walking on the side of the highway with no sidewalks. An officer spoke with the party.

Thursday, October 16

2:12 a.m.—A call from an alarm company reported loss of communication and cameras at Bank of America (179 Commonwealth Rd), and requested dispatch. The location was checked and secured.

5:11 p.m.—A driver on Cochituate Road called 911 concerning the operator of another vehicle, saying they got out of their vehicle and tapped her windshield, then got back in their vehicle and continued to give her hand gestures. Officers spoke with both parties.

Friday, October 17

11:56 a.m.—A two-car traffic accident was called in by 911, occurring on Commonwealth Road near Pemberton Road. One of the cars was towed to State Road Autobody.

12:02 p.m.—A 911 caller from Commonwealth Road reported smoke in the area. Fire Department advised a nearby homeowner about open burning laws.

3.29 p.m.—A caller from the vicinity of Cochituate State Park reported a small camp fire in the woods. The fire was put out and the party was advised.

Saturday, October 18

11:44 a.m.—A telephone call was received from Wayland Center with a complaint that motorists are stopping to beep and wave due to activity at the intersection, thereby causing a hazard. An officer checked the area and found no issues.

11:59 a.m.—A party came to the station to report a past hit and run.

12:20 p.m.—A two-car motor vehicle accident with no injury, occurring at the Hannah Williams Playground (71 Main St), was reported by a 911 call.

5:46 p.m.—A caller from Reservoir Road reported that persons may have entered his garage at 4:30 a.m. It was unknown if items were taken.

Sunday, October 19

2:02 p.m.—A 911 call from Rice Road reported an adult male in the water at Old Wayland Reservoir, possibly drowning. A rescuer reached the victim, and both were removed from the water. A canoe was retrieved.

6:22 p.m.—A 911 caller reported a minor two-car traffic accident on Main Street.

Monday, October 20

3:19 p.m.—A resident of Clubhouse Lane reported a low-hanging wire; Verizon was notified.

Tuesday, October 21

7:10 p.m.—A caller from Commonwealth Road at Carroll Court reported a dead fox in the roadway. Responder assisted with removal.

Wednesday, October 22

9:06 a.m.—A 911 call reported a traffic accident at Weston Optical (75 Boston Post Rd) involving two vehicles. Medical transport was refused.

11:53 a.m.—A Crest Road resident called to report destruction of personal property.

1:39 p.m.—Wayland Fire, giving mutual aid to Weston, responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a school bus and provided transport to Newton Wellesley Hospital.

4:56 p.m.—Police received a call about a suspicious text that involved a Barney Hill resident; the matter is under investigation.

6:01 p.m.—A caller from Rice Spring Lane was concerned about a very aggressive solicitor. The parties were advised.

Thursday, October 23

10:56 a.m.—A 911 call reported a traffic accident on Commonwealth Road involving three vehicles, one of which had to be towed.

Friday, October 24

10:13 a.m.—A single-vehicle accident occurred at the China Rose Restaurant (15 East Plain St). There was no property damage.

5:26 p.m.—A report was received from Russell’s Garden Center (397 Boston Post Rd) of larcenous shoplifting.

Saturday, October 25

8:29 a.m.—A motor vehicle accident involving an SUV and a motorcycle occurred on Concord Road at Training Field Road. One person was transported to Emerson Hospital, and one vehicle was towed.

10:44 p.m.—An officer responded to two complaints of a loud party in the neighborhood of Charena Road and advised the residents.

Sunday, October 26

8:00 a.m.—A caller from Cochituate Road near Pequot Road reported a dead deer blocking traffic. Animal Control was notified of the location of the deer as well as that of a dead raccoon on Concord Road near Bow Road.

5:03 p.m.—A 911 call from Commonwealth Road and Rice Road led to the arrest of Sharon Cullins, 58, of 490 Boston Post Rd, Wayland, for OUI and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

11:51 p.m.—A caller from Lakeview Road asked police to speak to the operator of a car in the vicinity that was playing loud music.
