Wayland students receive academic honors, degrees

Two Wayland students at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) completed a Major Qualifying Project, a required senior capstone thesis: Nicolas Alvarado (mechanical engineering), “UGV Mechanical Design for Off-Road Mobility,” and Alina Potashinsky (biomedical engineering), “Hormonal Impact on In Vitro Fibroid and Myometrial Cell Models.”

Springfield College has named William Caddoo (sports biology) and Xoren Livingston (exercise science/applied exercise science) to the dean’s list for academic excellence for the 2025 spring semester.

At James Madison University, Michael Jennings (elementary education) has been named to the Dean’s List and Elizabeth Powers (health sciences) has been named to the President’s List at James Madison University for the spring 2025 semester.


Victoria Cavallo (elementary education and youth development) was named to the Plymouth State University President’s List.

Two Wayland residents received degrees from Emerson College during the 145th Commencement at Agganis Arena in Boston on Sunday, May 11, 2025. Kaiyang Zhang received a BFA in theatre and performance, and Camryn Leh received a BA in publishing and writing.
