As the Wayland Youth Football Program winds down to the postseason, excitement is in the air. Three of the four tackle teams are advancing to the Division 2 playoffs, while the fifth-grade team is making history with a trip to the Division 1 playoffs.

This season has been one of the most successful in program history. Athletes, volunteers, and coaches alike witnessed incredible growth from the players as the weeks progressed. For a small town like Wayland—especially when compared to larger programs in places like Brockton or Foxborough—sending a team of just 17 dedicated players to the Division 1 playoffs is a tremendous accomplishment. It stands as a true testament to the grit, determination, and teamwork that define Wayland Youth Football.

The cheer teams continue to shine and make our program proud. At the most recent competition, the middle school team earned a 2nd place finish, and the 3rd–5th grade team took 3rd place, both delivering outstanding performances. The cheer program also successfully hosted its first Cheer Showcase, which not only raised funds to support the program but also gave all teams a chance to perform its routines and celebrate the hard work this season.

The flag football teams wrapped up the season on a high note as well. Both 3rd grade teams had strong showings at the Waltham Jamboree, demonstrating great teamwork and improvement throughout the year. This coming weekend, K-1 and 2nd grade teams will take the field for its season finale jamborees, closing out what has been a fun and successful flag season for all our young athletes.
