Dudley Pond Run

The 27th annual Dudley Pond Run, sponsored by the Dudley Pond Association, will be held Sunday, October 5. Proceeds benefit the preservation of this beautiful public watershed. There are four events for all ages and abilities: a 5-kilometer race sanctioned by USA Track & Field (USATF), a 2-mile competitive walk, fun runs for kids from 1 to 10 years old, and a non-competitive fitness walk. The fitness walk starts at 10 a.m. It will be followed by the kids races at 10:30 a.m. and then the 5-kilometer race and the 2-mile competitive walk at 11 a.m. With advance registration, the fee is $15 for competitive runners and walkers and fitness walkers, and $5 for the kids fun run. Day-of-race registration costs $20 for runners and walkers. The race will be held rain or shine. The race begins at Mansion Beach, located at Mansion Road and Lakeshore Drive, near Route 126 and West Plain Street, in Wayland, Mass. The event will loop around the pond with a short hilly route through the residential area. The run is one of Wayland’s oldest and best-attended charity events.
