Since 2018, The Sumaira Foundation has funded $1m in rare neuroimmune disorder research, fellowship and journal publications as a result of grassroot fundraising. The aim of the 5K is to raise enough funds to support 2 additional research projects in 2025 through the Foundation’s SPARK and Unicorn grants. Registration is open for the 2025 Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai. Scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 5, funds raised from the Jimmy Fund Walk support all forms of adult and pediatric care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The Jimmy Fund Walk aims to raise $9.5 million this year in an effort to prevent, treat, and defy cancer.
The 27th annual Dudley Pond Run, sponsored by the Dudley Pond Association, will be held Sunday, October 5. Proceeds benefit the preservation of this beautiful public watershed. There are four events for all ages and abilities: a 5-kilometer race sanctioned by USA Track & Field (USATF), a 2-mile competitive walk, fun runs for kids from 1 to 10 years old, and a non-competitive fitness walk.
