Conversations, Not Confrontations

This four-session workshop is all about building skills for real-life and online conversations—especially with people whose life experiences or perspectives differ from your own. Together, we’ll practice how to show up with curiosity and self-awareness, even when conversations feel uncomfortable or perspectives don’t align.

jamele adams, an educator, facilitator, and community peacemaker, will lead four in-person sessions where participants can practice empathetic listening, learn from one another, and build trust and connection. Together, participants will choose the discussion topic for each session.

By the end, you’ll have concrete tools to engage across differences—face-to-face and online. You’ll leave better equipped to navigate difficult conversations without losing connection. No matter who you are or where you’re coming from, this workshop is a welcoming space to learn, reflect, and grow together—and to help make the Wayland community stronger.

The program will be held at First Parish, 225 Boston Post Road, Wayland.
