Sudbury Community Food Pantry opens new facility in Wayland - Waylandpost

Town officials joined regional leaders Oct. 16 to celebrate the opening of the Sudbury Community Food Pantry’s new facility at 534 Boston Post Road.

Town Manager Michael McCall joined Sudbury Town Manager Andy Sheehan, State Rep. Carmine Gentile, Sudbury Director of Public Health Vivian Zeng, and Pantry Executive Director John Thomas, a longtime Wayland resident.

Founded in 1991, the all-volunteer nonprofit provides food and personal-care items to individuals and families facing food insecurity, serving all who need assistance without geographic restrictions. The new site adds ADA-compliant features, expanded refrigeration and freezer capacity, and more flexible distribution space.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Sudbury Community Food Pantry to Wayland, who will provide valuable resources for our community as well as our neighbors in the Town of Sudbury,” McCall said.
