Kudos to Wayland Planning Board during a busy fall

Dear Editor:

I wanted to publicly acknowledge the dedication and hard work of Anette Lewis and the entire town Planning Board. While they are unpaid volunteers, they do a vital, often difficult, job that is critical to keeping our community peaceful and natural.

In particular, the issues that have been raised with the recent proposal to expand the St. Philopater Mercurius & St. Mina Coptic Orthodox church are extensive and complex. The group has pushed through many long meetings, even adding more to their busy schedule during the holidays. Those meetings have been challenging, with large numbers of people in attendance representing the petitioner, as well as town residents. Anette and the rest of the board have managed these meetings well and focused the necessary business of the town in spite of the tenor of the meetings being strained at times.

I send my personal kudos to the board for taking on this work on behalf of all residents of our town.
