Wayland has fallen in love (and it’s with the Post!)

In an age when local newspapers are ghosting towns left and right, Wayland could’ve been left unread. But nope.
Wayland didn’t swipe left on local news. Wayland fell in love.
This February, we’re feeling the love as we celebrate the Wayland Post — your hometown paper, your reliable Valentine, the one that actually shows up.
While newspapers across the country are disappearing and communities are turning into information deserts, the Wayland Post is doing the opposite. Every other Friday, our complimentary, high-quality newspaper lands in all 5,100 homes and businesses in town. And judging by the notes, emails, and hallway conversations we’ve received… the feeling is mutual.
So, who’s your Valentine?
The Wayland Post is a nonprofit, founded by a group of local volunteers who believed Wayland deserved better than silence. In a town full of curious, engaged residents, reliable information isn’t a luxury — it’s essential. And frankly, we missed that spark.
Our mission is simple and sincere: independent, balanced, accurate reporting that helps our neighbors make informed decisions.
Before we ever printed our first issue, we asked you what you wanted. You told us loud and clear:
More coverage of local schools
Deeper reporting on town decisions and public spending
Better visibility for events, sports, and new business
So we listened. And then we committed. We now deliver a printed newspaper straight to your doorstep every Friday. Thanks to our nonprofit status, we’re able to mail each copy for just 11 cents — proof that love can be affordable.
Behind every story is real effort and real people. As we grow, the Wayland Post will be supported by a dedicated team of four full-time staff members, with plans to expand. We show up at meetings, talk with neighbors, spotlight local businesses, and dig into the issues that matter — because that’s what a good partner does.
Local businesses are a huge part of this relationship, too.

Through the Wayland Post, they connect directly with readers, share their stories, and strengthen our local economy. It’s a two-way conversation that keeps Wayland thriving.

And honestly? We couldn’t do this without you.
Instead of charging subscription fees, we rely on the community we serve. We suggest a voluntary annual donation of $120, though many neighbors choose to give more. As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, every contribution is fully tax-deductible — and every dollar goes toward keeping local journalism alive in Wayland.
So this Valentine’s season, don’t ignore the one who’s always there for you. Because when communities stop paying attention, local news gets sad.
Thank you for supporting the Wayland Post — your steady, reliable, never-ghosts-you Valentine. Together, we’ll keep Wayland informed, connected, and very much in love with its hometown paper.
