Another Business Leaves Town Center

The Bagel Table, located at 21 Andrew Ave., closed its doors for the last time on Sunday, June 29, marking the end of a brief but popular run in one of Wayland’s most visible commercial corners.

Situated near the Route 20 retail corridor and just steps from Stop & Shop, the cafรฉ occupied part of the former Panera Bread location, which had anchored the Wayland Town Center since its opening in 2012. Known for its New Yorkโ€“style bagels, breakfast sandwiches and local vibe, the Bagel Table has become a favored morning stop for commuters, families and weekend walkers alike.

Its closure follows a pattern of retail turnover at the Town Center, where a mix of national chains and local businesses have struggled to establish a long-term presence. While there has been no formal announcement about a replacement tenant, the site’s central location and built-in foot traffic may draw new interest as the plaza continues to evolve. The Bagel Table’s exit leaves a void in the local breakfast and coffee scene โ€” and adds another open question to the ongoing conversation about retail sustainability in Wayland.
