Will Reeve, ABC News correspondent and son of Christopher and Dana Reeve, will appear on April 2nd at Regis College for a candid discussion about persevering through life while navigating grief. This special program is hosted by The Parmenter Foundation, a Wayland-based nonprofit that provides hope and guidance for community members of all ages in need of compassionate end-of-life care and bereavement support. Premier event sponsors include Pam Mackill and Jeff Worthington of Wayland, as well as The JILEM Fund and The Doran Family.
The event, “An Evening with Will Reeve,” is the latest in a series presented by Parmenter, welcoming authors, influencers, and performers to MetroWest.
“We offer these programs not only to foster an open dialogue about grief, but also to create community among people who often feel they are isolated or alone in their grief,” says Angela Crocker, executive director of Parmenter.
The program on April 2nd will be held in the Regis College Theater in Weston at 7 pm, followed by an optional meet & greet reception with Reeve. Tickets are still available at parmenterfoundation.org/will-reeve-event. 100 percent of the proceeds will go toward bereavement support.
Reeve was just shy of three years old when his father, actor, director and activist Christopher Reeve, was paralyzed in a horseback riding accident. When Will was 12 years old, his father died of complications from an infection. 18 months later, his mother, Dana Reeve, an actress and singer, died of lung cancer. Will has navigated life, from high school to college to a successful career in broadcast journalism, while carrying that grief with him.
“Grief is permanent, but healing is possible. That is a mantra for me. I try to honor [my parents] by how I live and treat other people” Reeve told USA Today in September.
Reeve is a correspondent for ABC News, appearing on “Good Morning America” and “World News Tonight with David Muir.” He also serves on the board of directors for the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation and speaks nationally about grief, resilience, and finding healing in loss. Recently he was a guest on Anderson Cooper’s grief podcast, and he shared his story in the 2024 award-winning documentary about his family, “Super/Man.”
