Nov. 5 federal and state election totals for Wayland

Despite losing nationwide, the Biden-Harris ticket won in the Commonwealth and cleaned up in unofficial results for Wayland released this week by the Town Clerk’s office, 6,701 (76.0%) to 1,702 (19.3 %).

Wayland voters bucked the sentiments of voters statewide and did not approve Question 2, which would have removed the MCAS test as a requirement for high school graduation. Wayland voted 4,674 opposed (54.4 percent) to eliminating MCAS as a high school graduation requirement, while 3,912 voted in favor (45.6 percent). Statewide, the measure was approved 59.1 percent to 40.9 percent

Question 1 (allowing the state auditor to audit the Massachusetts legislature) was approved by Wayland residents, and by voters statewide.

Wayland residents also went along with voters across the state in approving Question 3 (allowing ride-share drivers to unionize), turning down Question 4 (voting against allowing psychedelic substances), and voting against Question 5 (establishing a minimum wage for tipped workers).

Democratic State Rep. Carmine Gentile won handily district-wide and in Wayland.

The complete, still unofficial, Wayland vote tallies from Nov. 5 can be seen here in separate tables.
