The Planning Board voted 4‑0 on Oct. 7 to close the Town Center permit hearing and separately voted 4‑0 to authorize Chair Anette Lewis and Town Planner Robert Hummel to finalize the written decision.
The amendment would allow part of Elissa Avenue to close to traffic, new gateway signs and temporary uses on undeveloped parcels, including a skating rink and dog park, while preserving future development rights. Conditions addressed toilets, lighting, and Fire Department review. The applicant said the rink would be delayed a year while safety and other arrangements were completed. Hummel reported Oct. 16 that the written decision was still pending.
The board voted 4‑0 to continue the Happy Hollow water treatment facility, Castle Road pump station and MWRA connection hearing to Nov. 4 at 7:15 p.m. Revised fencing and landscaping did not resolve concerns about sightlines, construction, groundwater and stormwater.
API Development Company LLC’s request to reapply for a special permit at 8 Parkridge Road was continued 4‑0 to Oct. 21 at 7:30 p.m. Four of five members were present, and Lewis said plan inaccuracies needed correction.
