These reports are incidents from police and fire logs that are of public interest. Other reports such as medical incidents, motor vehicle stops, false alarms, accidental 911 calls, etc., are omitted. For the weeks of June 9-22 there were about 280 such reports.
Monday, June 9
9:15 a.m. — A motor vehicle accident was reported on Cochituate Road near the intersection with Old Connecticut Path. There were no injuries, but one of the cars was towed to State Road Autobody.
2:26 p.m. — A request for a well-being check for an elderly resident with dementia led to the person being located and transported to the hospital.
5:02 p.m. — A person walked into the police station to report a breaking and entry of a motor vehicle at Wayland High School.
Tuesday, June 10
1:11 p.m. — A caller reported that a two-car accident had occurred on Sycamore Road.
1:21 p.m. — A resident of East Plain Street reported that a Terminex representative would not leave her house. The responding officer located the Terminex employee and provided a courtesy transport to Dunkin Donuts.
1:27 p.m. — A resident of Bayfield Road called to report that a Terminex representative did not have a solicitor’s permit and was being pushy. Police were unable to locate him.
4:51 p.m. — Two cars were involved in an accident on Commonwealth Road at Stanton Street. There were no injuries reported.
6:26 p.m. — An accident involving two cars at 57 Main St. was reported. There were no injuries.
6:28 p.m. — A resident of Blossom Lane called police to report Terminex solicitors aggressively trying to sell without a permit. The party was advised again to get a permit before soliciting. He was transported to the town line.
8:10 p.m. — A party walked into the police station to speak with an officer about an internet scam.
Wednesday, June 11
3:17 a.m. — A single-car accident occurred at Commonwealth Road and Stanton Street. The car was towed to State Road Autobody and courtesy transport was provided to the driver.
7:34 a.m. — A caller reported a large amount of glass in the roadway at Old Sudbury Road at Andrew Avenue. DPW was notified.
5:01 p.m. — A minor motor vehicle accident was called in to 911. The caller stated there was a verbal argument between him and the other operator.
5:21 p.m. — A caller reported a dead deer in the area of Concord Road near Lincoln Road as well as debris from a vehicle which included a license plate. The plate was returned and the party advised; Animal Control was notified.
Thursday, June 12
8:00 a.m. — A two-car accident at the intersection of Routes 20 and 27/126 was radioed in.
11:08 a.m. — A 911 call reported an electric wire was on fire. Responders found an electric wire was arcing when it hit a tree branch; Eversource was notified.
2:16 p.m. — A single-car accident on River Road resulted in one person being transported to Lahey Hospital. A pole along the road was cracked and the electric company was notified. River Road was closed at Water Row and Old Sudbury Road.
3:38 p.m. — Responding to a call about a possible transformer explosion near Castle Gate Road, the Fire Department found a branch on a transformer and a tripped breaker, and confirmed that there was a power outage. Eversource was notified.
4:49 p.m. — A resident of Concord Road came to the station to talk with police about a possible phone scam.
7:19 p.m. — A caller from Oak Hill Road reported that wires were down in the area, which was confirmed by police and fire. Verizon was notified.
8:43 p.m. — A 911 call informed police of drag racing in the area of Gage Road. An officer went to the operator’s residence and advised the party.
Friday, June 13
9:42 a.m. — A resident of Grace Road called about a possible oil leak. The Fire Department investigated and advised the caller to contact the oil company.
10:27 a.m. — A caller was concerned about debris in the road at the Main Street Sunoco.
12:23 p.m. — The DPW reported that a tree was down on Oxbow Road involving live wires, including to a house on Campbell Road. Eversource was contacted and police shut down both sides of Oxbow Road.
Saturday, June 14
2:58 p.m. — The Fire Department received a call about an odor of gas in the area of Bent Park elderly housing, possibly from lamps on the property. National Grid and the Wayland Housing Authority were notified.
Sunday, June 15
8:34 p.m. — A caller reported someone erratically driving a motorbike with no plates and doing wheelies on Cochituate Road in the vicinity of Sandy Burr Country Club. Police advised the party.
Monday, June 16
7:51 p.m. — A caller was concerned about a small group of youths on the town beach having a small bonfire.
Tuesday, June 17
2:05 p.m. — A 911 caller reported that a dog had been locked in a car at the Town Hall for several hours. Police advised the owner.
2:55 p.m. — A resident of Concord Road called to report a potbelly pig was in their front yard. The pig was determined to belong to a neighbor whom the officers contacted, and the pig and owner were reunited.
3:16 p.m. — A caller from Commonwealth Road reported a multiple-car accident. Three individuals were transported to Framingham Union Hospital.
6:29 p.m. — A motor vehicle crash occurred on Rice Road with no injuries.
Wednesday, June 18
3:41 p.m. — A person was locked out of their vehicle at Donelan’s Market. The Fire Department was able to gain access.
5:03 p.m. — Fire and Police Department responded to help someone who was locked out of their vehicle at Sandy Burr Country Club.
Thursday, June 19
2:23 p.m. — A caller from Michael Road reported that a fallen tree was blocking the roadway. An officer responded and moved the tree off the road.
5:19 p.m. — A resident of Dudley Road requested assistance with an injured bird. The bird was transported to bird rehabilitator Allison Webber of Orchard Lane.
9:18 p.m. — The station received multiple calls regarding a tree across Old Sudbury Road at Glezen Lane, with wires down. The electric company and DPW were notified.
Friday, June 20
10:44 a.m. — A resident of Bow Road reported hearing sounds like gun shots for several days. Police checked the area, confirmed the noise, and contacted Sudbury police, who confirmed that they had been using the firing range for several days.
10:55 a.m. — A caller from West Plain Street noted there were wires down on the street. The Fire Department found severed secondary wires and notified Eversource.
12:01 p.m. — A Woodland Road resident reported that part of a large tree had fallen on some wires. Verizon was notified.
12:42 p.m. — A caller from Jericho Lane reported down wires; Fire and Police Department responded and Eversource was notified.
1:17 p.m. — A Goodman Lane caller said that a tree was down in the roadway. The responding officer was able to move the tree with DPW assistance.
2:33 p.m. — A caller reported that a power line might be on fire. Police and fire personnel confirmed that a transformer had blown, and Eversource was notified.
4:20 p.m. — The station received multiple calls regarding a brush fire on the side of Boston Post Road near Rice Road.
Saturday, June 21
5:37 a.m. — A caller from Rice Spring Lane sought help regarding harassment. Kleffens Lahens Moise, 30, of Mansfield, was arrested for violating a harassment prevention order.
9:16 a.m. — A report of a two-car traffic accident on Old Connecticut Path was called in.
8:10 p.m. — A caller from Commonwealth Road said she could smell and see smoke across the street near the Wayland Animal Clinic. The Fire Department located the source and confirmed it was a fire pit where building materials were being burned. Parties were advised.
9:37 p.m. — A caller complained that a car was “doing donuts” close to her vehicle at the Town Beach. The operator was advised to leave the area.
Sunday, June 22
3:49 p.m. — A resident of Pond Drive was concerned about an injured baby hawk on the side of the road. The local bird-of-prey handler was contacted.
4:53 pm. — A Glezen Lane resident reported that a small dog not belonging to her entered her home; the dog had no collar. The dog was returned to its owner.
