Wayland High School athletes head into the heart of their fall seasons with a full slate of games, matches, and meets over the next two weeks. From key Dual County League showdowns to non-league tests, nearly every program will be in action both home and away.

Friday, October 17 marks one of the busiest afternoons on the calendar. The freshman boys’ soccer team hosts Waltham at 4:15 p.m., while freshman and JV volleyball take on Belmont at the same time in the field house. Varsity field hockey faces Concord-Carlisle at 4:30 p.m., followed by varsity volleyball against Belmont at 5:45 p.m. and JV field hockey closing the day at 6 p.m.

The weekend continues with varsity girls’ soccer traveling to Waltham on Saturday, October 18 at 10 a.m., and varsity football kicking off at 2 p.m. in Waltham.

The action resumes Monday, October 20, with a full lineup at home: JV football and field hockey host Waltham, while boys’ soccer (JV and varsity) welcome Concord-Carlisle. The girls’ soccer teams travel to Concord-Carlisle that same afternoon, and varsity volleyball plays host to the Patriots at 5:15 p.m.

Tuesday, October 21 brings another home showcase, as middle-school field hockey hosts Weston, and all levels of volleyball face Concord-Carlisle. Girls’ soccer and boys’ soccer swap sites that day, with each program hosting one level and traveling with another.

Wednesday and Thursday, October 22–23, feature back-to-back matchups with Waltham and Newton South. Volleyball, soccer, and field hockey all see multiple games across those two days, while cross-country teams prepare for late-month meets.

Friday, October 24, highlights field hockey vs. Framingham at home (4 p.m.), and volleyball at Natick, with freshman and JV matches at 5:45 p.m. The week closes with boys’ soccer at Cohasset on Saturday, October 25 at 5 p.m.

The final stretch of the month includes road trips for most teams:

  • Oct. 28: Boys’ soccer and middle-school cross country travel to Newton South and Concord.
  • Oct. 29: Girls’ soccer plays at Newton South.
  • Oct. 30: Freshman football visits Lincoln-Sudbury (4:30 p.m.), and varsity football follows under the lights at 7 p.m.
  • Oct. 31: Boys’ and girls’ cross country compete in away meets to close out the month.

With so many contests on the schedule, October offers fans multiple chances to support the Warriors at home fields and gyms before the playoff season begins.
