How many jelly beans fit inside that giant glass jar? Hundreds of festivalgoers took their best shot at the Wayland Festival’s annual Jelly Bean Guessing Contest—but only one came close enough to win bragging rights (and the candy itself). The answer: 395.

This year’s winner was Sadi Vaughn, whose guess landed within just a few beans of the actual total. Vaughn’s precise prediction topped dozens of other entries submitted throughout the day at the Wayland Post booth.

The colorful jar, filled with a mix of bright reds, yellows, greens, and blues, became a favorite photo stop for families and children during the event.

“It’s always fun to see people stop, stare, and start counting,” said Carole Plumb Assistant Editor. “Some folks use math, others just trust their instincts—but it’s the excitement that makes it memorable.”

The Jelly Bean Guessing Contest is a lighthearted tradition at the Wayland Festival, sponsored by the Wayland Post to celebrate community spirit and curiosity. Congratulations to Sadi Vaughn—and good luck to next year’s challengers!
