Former police chief hired by consulting firm

Capital Strategic Solutions (CSS) announced that Ed Burman joined the firm as senior project manager. According to the announcement, they “will leverage his deep operational expertise, collaborative leadership style, and commitment to community-focused outcomes to support clients across public safety, policing, and municipal initiatives.”
“He brings an extraordinary depth of experience in public safety, policing, and public health that is rarely found in one leader,” said Nicholas Figueriredo, CEO of CSS. “His ability to manage complex operations, build trust across communities and deliver results under pressure aligns perfectly with our mission.”
CSS provides public-sector consulting on topics including grant management, community engagement, and project management.
Burman, 62, retired as Wayland’s police chief on Dec. 16, 2025.
