Susan (Lich- tenberg) Karelitz of Wellesley and Mashpee, formerly of Wayland, died after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by family.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Neal, and their three sons: Jonathan, and his wife Melinda; Bradley and his wife Cara; and Gregory and his wife Amberly. She leaves eight grandchildren: Julia, May, Evelyn, Zachary, Mari, Rosabel, Summit and Hadley; her siblings, Diane Scanlan, Barbara Mironov and Richard Lichtenberg; her mother-in-law, Jane Karelitz; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Alan and Elaine Lichtenberg, and her father-in-law, Stephen Karelitz.
A funeral service was held at Temple Shir Tikva, followed by burial at Beit Olam East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests gifts to the Boston Children’s Hospital League at childrenshospitalleague.org/donate.
