Wayland College Student Participates in New Fest Short Works at Emerson College

Marshall Marobella, a student from Wayland, participated in New Fest at Emerson’s Semel Theater in Boston from March 20 to 22. New Fest is an annual festival that honors student achievements in acting, playwriting, and directing.


Marobella, a sophomore at Emerson, is majoring in Theatre Education and Performance.
This year’s festival included a 75-minute, non-stop performance of six new works. All six plays are written, directed and performed by Performing Arts students. They were titled Convenience of Proximity, Second Place, Death of Gogh, Period Play, Flight of the Midnight Lobster and Old Reliable.


Emerson College is a private college which is located in Boston, Los Angeles and the Netherlands. It offers more than three dozen degree and professional training programs specializing in the fields of arts and communication with a foundation in liberal arts studies.
