The Council on Aging (COA) is excited to move into its new home. To celebrate this event, there will be a grand opening celebration on June 5 at the new Wayland Community and Council on Aging Center, located at 8 Andrew Ave. Festivities will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. There will be inside and outside activities, food and music.

Outside activities will include inflatable games, an obstacle course, information tables with summer safety tips, giveaways from the Wayland Health Department and container planting sponsored by the Wayland Children Parents Association. Inside there will be a presentation on the Birds of Wayland at 4:30 p.m., with Conservation’s Brian Harris and a tour of the Center. The tour will highlight the building’s zero building emissions and how the small building was thoughtfully designed to accommodate groups of varying sizes.

The evening will wrap up with a magic show, “DISCOVER THE MAGIC,” by Master Illusionist Lyn Dillies at 7 p.m.. Due to limited seating, reservations are required. Free tickets are available online or by using the QR code on the flyer posted on the Town website.

DJ John Berry will provide the music and local businesses will provide BITES & BEVERAGES: Giacomo’s, The Local, The Bagel Table and the “Kona Ice” Food Truck.
