The Capital Improvement Planning Committee voted 5‑0 on Oct. 7 to approve its capital recommendations (see story starting on page 1) after reducing a proposed water asset management study from $500,000 in fiscal 2028 to $250,000 in fiscal 2029. The revised request reflected a lower preliminary cost estimate and a decision to allow more time for work on the town’s long-term water supply.
Members combined two cybersecurity requests into an $850,000 project funded by borrowing and switched a $150,000 dump truck purchase from borrowing to free cash, leaving the overall funding split unchanged.A $380,000 piece of transfer station roll-off equipment purchase remained in fiscal 2028, with transfer station borrowing identified as its proposed funding source.
The committee issued its final fiscal 2028–32 capital report Oct. 14. Members canceled their Oct. 28 meeting and tentatively retained Nov. 4.
