The Community Preservation Committee heard preliminary funding ideas for housing, a dog park and railroad preservation during an Oct. 7 application workshop. Project applications are due Nov. 13 at 5 p.m. The committee made no funding awards.
A dog-park organizer asked about funding benches, shade and other amenities on privately owned land at Wayland Town Center. Chair Susan Weinstein said the committee needed to investigate how to ensure continued public access. Members also encouraged an application for excavation of the railroad engine-house foundations and discussed a possible request for cabinets holding Narcan and automated external defibrillators at recreation facilities.
Applicant discussions were scheduled for Nov. 17 and, if needed, Nov. 18. The committee plans to consider its recommendations Dec. 2 before preparing Town Meeting warrant articles.
