Municipal Meeting Recaps

Housing Partnership

The Housing Partnership on Oct. 14 planned a discussion with town health officials about septic costs and accessory dwelling units. Members want homeowners replacing septic systems to consider whether adding capacity now could accommodate an ADU later. They agreed to prepare proposed language for permit materials and invite health officials to discuss it; no change to septic requirements was adopted.

Members also agreed to revisit the partnership’s official charge after questioning an outdated description of its role as the first stop for developers and provisions for its membership. The group discussed seeking clarification from the town manager and Select Board.

As work began on a new Housing Production Plan, members reviewed residential zoning maps and explored whether smaller minimum lots or different cluster-housing arrangements could produce more homes while preserving open space. No zoning amendment was adopted.

The partnership moved its regular meetings to the second Tuesday of each month, beginning Nov. 10, with the following meeting Dec. 8.
