The Municipal Affordable Housing Trust on Oct. 14 appointed Vice Chair Jacqueline Espiritusanto-Vega to represent it on the Housing Production Plan Committee. The appointment gives the trust a role in preparing the town’s next housing plan and gathering public input on housing needs.
Chair Michael Staiti reported that the proposed Habitat for Humanity project at 12 Hammond Road remains delayed while the town awaits Land Court deregistration of the property. He said condominium documents cannot be recorded and the deed cannot be transferred until that process is complete. Habitat remains interested in proceeding.
Members also discussed potential support for a housing development near Longfellow on Boston Post Road and housing for adults with disabilities at 212 Cochituate Road. Staiti said any request from the Boston Post Road developer would have to demonstrate that public money is needed to make the project viable. No funding was approved. The town’s solicitation for 212 Cochituate Road sets a Nov. 12 deadline at 11 a.m.
