Wayland Middle and High School Orchestra Masquerade Concert

The Wayland Middle and High School orchestras performed its 24th annual Masquerade Concert on Oct. 23, in the WHS auditorium. Students disguised themselves in outstanding costumes and played themed music for the standing room only crowd. Selections included “Shipwreck Coast”,”Dark Journey,” “Shadow Defenders,” “Rondo in Blue,” and the popular shredding soloists infused “Devil’s Nightmare.”

The evening included a drawing to benefit Music For Food. Local businesses provided gift cards, pumpkins and plants as prizes. The WHS Orchestra Officers kept the evening entertaining with games and high school thespians gave a preview of their upcoming musical shows (Nov. 20-22), “Head Over Heels,” Johnson String Instrument provided musician costume prizes for the top student winners.

The grand finale had the audience erupting in cheers as they waved their glow-sticks and sang along to the popular song, “Golden.”
