Throughout the week of September 16-22, Wayland’s public safety departments responded to a variety of incidents, including 28 motor vehicle stops, reports of larceny, suspicious activity, and motor vehicle crashes. Below are some notable events from the police and fire logs:

  • September 16 (Monday):
    • Property Damage: At 4:24 a.m., a resident reported a mailbox struck by a vehicle on Old Sudbury Road. Upon investigation, police found a nearby fence and fire hydrant also damaged.
    • Wires Down: Reports of wires down on Old Connecticut Path were received at 1:49 p.m. and 4:35 p.m. Officers cleared the road and notified utility companies.
  • September 17 (Tuesday):
    • Stolen Motor Vehicle: A stolen vehicle was reported from Bentley Boston on Route 20 at 12:01 p.m.
    • Motor Vehicle Accident: A minor accident occurred in Legion Square with no injuries reported.
  • September 19 (Thursday):
    • Fire Alarm: The fire department responded to an alarm on Farmcrest Lane at 1:27 a.m. A faulty detector was identified and reset.
