The Planning Board continued a public hearing from Sept. 9 on a proposed Happy Hollow water treatment facility, and a new Castle Road pump station within the MWRA Hultman Aqueduct Corridor.
The proposal includes a water treatment facility designed for approximately 1.35 million gallons per day. Residents near the Castle Road pump-station location objected to its placement near a blind corner on Old Connecticut Path and cited previous crashes, emergency calls and school-bus safety concerns.
Chair Anette Lewis also criticized a proposed eight-foot chain-link fence with privacy slats and asked that revised plans include native landscaping to screen the facility.
Representatives for the project agreed to revise the plans. The board unanimously continued the hearing to Oct. 7 and extended the decision deadline to Nov. 6.
The board also continued the NP Wayland LLC Town Center hearing to Sept. 23 while revised signage language was prepared. The proposal under discussion would allow as many as 16 tenant panels on each side of a sign.
