Town Manager Michael McCall and Finance Director Brian Keveny said fiscal 2028 appeared manageable without an operating override at the Oct. 26 meeting. Keveny outlined a budget scenario producing a roughly 5.7% tax increase. Holding the increase to 4.5%, he said, could require trimming about $1 million from proposed school spending and $200,000 to $300,000 from town spending. The committee took no vote on the budget or an override.
Next: Department reviews are planned for late November and early December, followed by a preliminary budget in December.
