Joel H. Sirkin died at home, on Aug. 19, 2026. He was born Jan. 7, 1946, in Pittsburgh and grew up in Hewlett, Long Island. He graduated from Johns Hopkins in 1967 and Harvard Law School in 1972.
In 1977, he married his wife, Karen. They moved to Wayland in 1978, where their sons, Alex and Jake Sirkin, were born and raised. Joel was a devoted father and husband, and father-in-law to Rachel. Being a grandfather to Max was the best thing that happened to him in his old age.
After several years working in legal services in Cambridge, he joined the law firm Hale and Dorr, which became Wilmer Hale, where he worked until he retired in 2010. For condolences, visit www.johncbryantfuneralhome.com.
