Members of the Wayland Police Department will host a new community gathering, Coffee with Cops, at the Council on Aging building (8 Andrew Ave., on Sept. 18 from 8:30-10 a.m.). Residents are invited to attend for a light breakfast, coffee, and other refreshments while enjoying the opportunity to meet and speak with members of the department in an informal setting.
Ultimately, the WPD hopes to gain a better understanding of the needs and concerns of the community they serve. By building these relationships, they can be more proactive, identify community issues earlier, and work together to address them before they become larger problems.
Each participating officer will bring a brief biography highlighting who they are and what they contribute to the department and community in order for the public to get to know the officers as people and to strengthen their connection with the community they serve.
