Two gas stations in the Cochituate area were broken into late Tuesday night in what police described as a rare pair of back-to-back incidents.

According to the Wayland Police Department, the first break-in occurred around 11 p.m. at the Sunoco station at 19 Main St.reet, followed shortly before midnight by a second break-in at the Mobil station at 315 Commonwealth Road (Route 30). In both cases, the glass on the front doors was smashed to gain entry.

Wayland Police Chief Ed Burman said investigators quickly began working with the Natick Police Department and that suspects have been identified.

“Working with Natick PD and our officers, we identified the suspects and charges are pending,” Burman said in a statement.
