The council removed 18 of 37 applications from its 2027 grant cycle, citing limited local connections, events outside the funding year and other concerns. Roughly $7,900 is available, but final awards remain undecided. Requests still under consideration include the Wayland Concert Series, a Lunar New Year celebration and the Historical Society. Members also voted 5-0 on Oct. 28 to appoint Hailey Fuqua vice chair.
