Water usage portal
Wayland residents who want to monitor their water usage, identify conservation opportunities, keep an eye out for potential leaks, and possibly lower their bills, can do so with a new customer portal. Unveiled on July 28, the portal is available at my-wayma.sensus-analytics.com. The town also shared tutorials for setting up an account and navigating the system at tinyurl.com/sensus-training.

Mosquito found to carry West Nile virus
On July 30, the Wayland Health Department was informed that a mosquito collected in Wayland on July 28 tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV). This is early in the season for a WNV positive mosquito and is likely at least in part due to the very hot summer weather.
The Health Department will monitor the situation in Wayland and any new data received from the state. It is recommended that residents check their yard for items that can collect water and harbor mosquito breeding.

Primaries are Sept. 1
For the Sep. 1 State Primary, voters may choose to vote by mail, in-person early voting, or on Election Day.
The Town Clerk’s office will offer in-person early voting in the Wayland Town Building on Aug. 22 and 24-28.Voters may register, update their address, or change their party affiliation in person at the Town Clerk’s Office until 5 p.m. on Aug. 22. Online voter registration will remain available until 11:50 p.m. through the Massachusetts Online Voter Registration System.
The deadline to submit a vote by mail request for the State Primary is Aug. 25 at 5 p.m. Note that postmarks do not count; requests must be received by the deadline.
‘Rendezvous with Rachel Revere’
Back by popular demand, Wayland Rev250 and the Wayland Historical Commission announce that History at Play will return with “Rendezvous with Rachel Revere,” on Sunday, Aug. 30, at 2 p.m., at Vokes Theatre, 97 Boston Post Road. The event is free but registration is encouraged, as limited seating is available.
“Rendezvous with Rachel Revere” highlights the untold story of Paul Revere’s wife, who has only heard from her husband once since his midnight ride on April 18, 1775. Rachel desperately creates a plan to safely take her six stepchildren and a newborn baby from the reach of the British Regular Army in Boston. In the program, the audience will help Rachel consider the dangers and demands of each plan.
